BAREILLY: A 26-year-old railway employee was allegedly gang-raped at gun point by the manager of a computer training institute and his accomplice in the city's Biharipur area.
The survivor, a data entry operator from Izzat Nagar, was undertaking training at the institute.
She was allegedly gang-raped on March 8, 2014 after her batch mates left the institute.
When she offered resistance, the accused allegedly whipped out a pistol and threatened her of dire consequences if she raised an alarm. The accused allegedly also filmed the entire incident with a mobile phone camera and threatened to upload the contents on the web if the survivor complained to the police.
An FIR was lodged with the Kotwali police station on March 24 after the girl shared her trauma with her family members.
The girl's family said they have been receiving threat calls from unknown numbers after the police complaint was filed. Meanwhile, superintendent of police, Rajeev Malhotra, said, "We had sent the girl for medical examination but nothing could be concluded due to the delay in reporting the case. The investigating officer has recorded her statement under Section 164 of the Indian Evidence Act and we have launched a manhunt."
