GHAZIPUR: SP's Afzal Ansari won the Ghazipur Lok Sabha constituency by a margin of 1,24,861 votes.

The parliamentary district of Ghazipur is located in Uttar Pradesh. Five segments comprise its assembly constituency. These assemblies are located in districts GHAZIPUR (5).With Jakhanian and Saidpur set aside as reserved seats, Ghazipur's parliamentary reach encompasses five assembly constituencies: Ghazipur Sadar, Jangipur, Zamania, and Jakhanian.

Samajwadi party's Afzal Ansari is ahead of BJP's Paras Nath Rai from eastern Uttar Pradesh's Ghazipur constituency.

2014: The 2014 Ghazipur Lok Sabha elections witnessed a tight contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Samajwadi Party (SP). Manoj Sinha of the BJP emerged victorious, securing 306,929 votes, which amounted to 31.11% of the total votes polled. Sinha's win underscored the BJP's ability to consolidate support from various sections of the electorate.

The SP, which had been hoping to retain the seat, had to settle for the runner-up position. Their candidate, Smt Shivkanya Kushwaha, garnered 274,477 votes, translating to 27.82% of the total votes cast. Despite putting up a spirited fight, the SP fell short by a narrow margin, indicating the intense competition in the region.

2019: The 2019 Ghazipur Lok Sabha elections witnessed a closely fought contest between the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Afzal Ansari of the BSP emerged as the winner, securing an impressive 566,082 votes, which amounted to 51.20% of the total votes polled. Ansari's victory margin underscored the BSP's strong connect with the electorate in the region.

The BJP, which had been hoping to retain the seat, had to settle for the runner-up position. Their candidate, Manoj Sinha, garnered 446,690 votes, translating to 40.40% of the total votes cast. Despite putting up a spirited fight, the BJP fell short by a considerable margin, indicating a potential shift in the region's political dynamics.
