Some had put stalls in the old city to welcome the yatra with water and cold drinks, others had closed their shops for a while to provide a way to the devotees. Gate said that it is the brotherhood and love which I have been seeing since my childhood that guides me every year.
He also arranges a floral shower at the stall.
Mohammad Zahid (55), shut his shop for a while so that the yatra could progress with ease. “Every year, I welcome the yatra and if required help pulling the chariot,” he said.
