Ganga e-way to be UP’s industrial lifeline: Nandi

Lucknow: Industrial development minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi on Wednesday said that inauguration of the Ganga expressway marks a major milestone in the state’s infrastructure-led growth and reinforces UP’s emergence as the country’s leading expressway state.

“UP now accounts for nearly 60% of India’s total expressway network, underscoring the rapid pace of development achieved under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Yogi Adityanath,” Nandi said at the launch event.





Describing the corridor as more than just a transport project, Nandi said: “It would serve as state’s industrial lifeline, connecting Prayagraj to the national capital region while significantly boosting investment, logistics and regional connectivity.”

He said the expressway reflects the govt’s commitment to holistic development and will provide a major push to industrial expansion across the state, much like the Ganga river has historically sustained India’s prosperity and cultural identity.

Nandi highlighted that over the past nine years, major projects such as the Purvanchal, Bundelkhand, Gorakhpur Link and Ganga expressways have accelerated UP’s industrial and infrastructure transformation.

Calling the Ganga expressway a “golden chapter” in the state’s development journey, he said the project strengthens UP’s new identity as 'Expressway Pradesh' and represents a landmark achievement in the double-engine govt’s broader vision of economic growth, connectivity and balanced regional progress.
