Lucknow: Police claimed to have busted a gang of chain snatchers and auto-lifters on Saturday with the arrest of four men.
The miscreants, identified as Wasim, Utkarsh Singh, Avinash Agrahari and Mohammed Naeem Ansari, were nabbed in Indiranagar.
Cops recovered five stolen motorcycles, four gold chains, Rs 1,800 and a country-made pistol along with two live cartridges.
Police claimed eleven cases, including chain loot, had been solved with the arrests as the miscreants had owned up to their crime. They admitted they had targeted women in Ghazipur, Indiranagar, Gomtinagar, Mahanagar, Aliganj, Vikasnagar and Madiaon.
Their confession is in contradiction of police claim on chain loot and auto lifting in Trans-Gomti area.
