Free eye check-up camp organized

LUCKNOW: Sunayan Lasik Laser Centre in association with Lucknow Times organised a free eye check-up camp here on Sunday. Over 120 persons got their eyes checked under the supervision of eminent ophthalmologists. People were also given information on lasik surgery.
Explaining about lasik surgery, city-based eye surgeon Dr VK Garg said that Lasik is a skilled procedure that combines state-of-art computer technology with advanced laser precision."In this surgical procedure, we use a laser to correct near-sightedness, far-sightedness and astigmatism. It is an extremely safe procedure and there is hardly any chance for complication," he said.
Ritesh Dayal, a merchant navy aspirant, came to the camp to clear his doubts about the lasik surgery. Ritesh has cleared the marine engineering entrance examination but requires 6/6 vision. Since he is a myopic, he is apprehensive about final selection. "If I am eligible for this operation then I'll surely undergo the treatment," he said.
Several people in the eye check-up camp were seen asking about the myths related to lasik surgery. The questions frequently asked at the camp included the duration of the procedure, risk factors and the cost involved. All these doubts were cleared by the panel of eminent doctors.
