LUCKNOW: Property dealer Amit Kumar Rawat from Vrindavan area was gunned down for refusing to give Rs 8 lakh commission in the sale of a plot made for his company while Rawat was planning to make his wife the company director. The fact came to light after police arrested four miscreants, including two brothers.

Those arrested were identified as Ashish Yadav and his brother Manish of Rani Khera in Mohanlalganj, Rohit Yadav and Suraj Rawat, both of Nigohan. Father of Rohit is a home guard posted in Hazratagnj police station and his uncle a section officer in DGP headquarters. ADCP, East Zone, Syed Ali Abbas, who worked out the case said the miscreants owned up their crime and disclosed that Amit Rawat was not giving them the commission they had to take from the former in a land deal.

“Amit and the prime accused Ashish were directors in the realtor company which was being run in Vrindavan sector 19. Ashish was allegedly removed from the post of director in the recent past and this was also a bone of contention between them. Amit was planning to place his wife Seema on the post,” said Abbas.

“Rohit was also angry with Rawat as the latter had refused to pay him commission for sale of land/plots by him,” said Abbas, adding that Rahul was to get commission for selling plots at a rate above Rs 500. Recently, Rawat had refused to pay the commission saying the scheme had been winded up,” said the officer.

ACP Abhinav Yadav, said all CCTVs installed near the shop were made defunct on the day of the crime and that hinted at insider’s role.
