Five arrested for duping , robbing job aspirants
Lucknow: The Lucknow Police on Sunday busted a gang that robbed jobs eekers at gunpoint after luring them with fake employment offers. Police arrested five accused and recovered the victims' looted belongings. The matter came to light after an event management worker Rohit Bansal, a ressident of Nishatganj, lodged a complaint with Hazratganj police, alleging that he was called on Feb 26 on the pretext of a job opportunity. When Rohit reached the location, the accused blindfolded him and took him to a secluded spot, where they assaulted him, forced him to transfer money online, and robbed him of his wallet, watch, and gold chain.

Taking swift action, police formed three teams under the supervision of senior officers. With the help of cyber surveillance and technical inputs, the gang was tracked down and arrested on Feb 28. The arrested accused were identified as Nuruddin alias Sameer, Ravi Rajput, Ayush Yadav, Ayush Balmiki, and Gopal Soni, all residents of Lucknow. Police recovered a gold chain, a wallet, Rs 14,400 in cash, an ATM card, and four mobile phones used in the crime. During interrogation, the accused revealed they searched for individuals seeking jobs online, gained their trust by offering employment, and then took them to isolated locations where they robbed them, said Hazratganj station house officer Vikram Singh.
