LUCKNOW: Furniture items worth rupees three lakh was gutted when a fire broke out at a furniture workshop situated at Prag Narain Road on Friday. The minor fire incident was reported to have occurred around 12.15 pm. However, no loss to life took place.
As per the fire station officer (FSO), Hazratganj, PC Gautam, prima-facie the incident took place due to the electrical short circuit.

"No other reason except that of an electrical short circuit could be ascertained," said Gautam, adding that good worth rupees three lakh were destroyed.
The legal advisor of Bantus interior decorator, Anil Srivastava, however said, "We have not been able to ascertain the cause behind the fire," said Srivastava. The company's owner, Naveen Tiwari, was however, out of the town.
Giving account of the incident, Gautam informed that the sofa sets, cushion covers, foam, and plywood were spread across the place where the fire broke out. The fire department officials received the information at 12.52 pm. They immediately swung into action and it took them around 45 minutes to douse the flames. Four vehicles were sent at the incident site.
"Investigations are going on to find out the exact loss. Since, the owner was not present, details could not be furnished," said Gautam.
At the time of the incident, seven labourers were present inside the workshop. Eyewitnesses, however, claim that the fire was a massive one and it took more than an hour to douse the flames.
