However local residents soon gathered and forced the group to retreat. The residents though were beaten up by Ajay’s supporters. Following the incident, the residents united and approached senior officials to get an FIR registered. On Thursday, Ajay and others were booked under IPC sections 147, 148, 427, 452, and other charges.

Station officer of Para police station, Ajay Tripathi said that both the sides have been summoned along with relevant documents. “We will forward our report to concerned revenue department officer and ask him to resolve the dispute. The boundary has been on the spot for a long time but Ajay claims he owns the portion of the land where the boundary exists now,” said Tripathi.

From the time BJP government took over, city police have carried out a drive against land sharks. A list of bhu-mafia who are operating across 42 police stations have been compiled. However as Ajay took over recently he said, “I will have to check if Singh had been booked in the past for similar offences and take action against him accordingly.”
