FIR against 250 Bharatiya Janata Party men for breaking code

FIROZABAD: Police registered an FIR against 250 Bharatiya Janata Party workers and leaders including district president for conducting a swearing in ceremony of a political leader in violation of the

model code of conduct

on Sunday evening.

Speaking with TOI,

sub-divisional magistrate Sangam Lal Yadav

said the party had not taken any permission to conduct the event.

Bharatiya Janata Party district president B L Verma, vice president Jayjeev Parashar and the owner of the banquet hall, Udayveer Yadav, along with one more person have been named in the FIR.

Others were mentioned as unidentified
