The arrested persons have been identified as Jai’s father Keshav Kishore Singh and Anshu’s father JP Dixit. They were arrested on charges of giving shelter to their sons who were wanted in a number of criminal cases pending against them. According to sources, the LDA and the police have planned an extensive search and verification drive for Nehru Enclave from Sunday morning. "We many also confiscate the household goods found unclaimed in locked flats in the presence of a magistrate," said senior superintendent of police Akhil Kumar on Saturday.
Police have also organised a meeting of the residents’ welfare association so that a local residents can keep a tab on illegal occupants and inform the local police and the LDA officials. Investigations so far have revealed that prime accused Jai Singh was occupying the flat number V-24 before the murder and was untraceable since then. This flat is allotted to Samajwadi Party MLA Mahendra Singh Rajput. "Though the flat was allotted to the MLA, the LDA was yet to hand over the possession to him, hence he cannot be accused of foul play at this stage," Kumar clarified. The SSP said that raids were conducted in districts on UP-Nepal border following reports that the trio were planning to sneak into the Himalayan kingdom.
