LUCKNOW: Family members of Ramvriksh, who died after falling from the fourth floor of KGMU's limb centre on Sunday, alleged that unruly behavior of staff and guards made him depressed, leading him to take this extreme step.
Father of five and the sole bread-earner of the family, Ramvriksh was admitted to KGMU on August 25 and had undergone surgery on September 13 for a spine injury.

His nephew Vinay Kumar said that "guards used to scold us and attendants of other patients before the round of senior doctors. On a few occasions the staff had also misbehaved with Ramvriksh and despite our protest they continued to behave in a questionable manner. All this added to his agony and he jumped down from the fourth floor."
Vinay further said that his uncle was feeling low for the last two days and had complained to him about the unruly behavior of the support staff and the guards. "Now, I am worried about his three daughters who are yet to be married," Vinay said, adding that the family had taken a loan from relatives to meet daily expenses and now they are not in a position to repay the money. "They are facing a gloomy future," he said, demanding inquiry into the matter. Vinay also demanded compensation for the family members of the deceased.
Meanwhile, spokesperson, KGMU, Prof Sudhir Singh said that the allegations are false as the patient was admitted on August 25 and neither the patient nor attendants had lodged any complaint against the staff members.
