Fake ‘IAS officers’ dupe man, friends of ₹15 lakh
Lucknow: A native of Unnao accused a man and his son of duping Rs 15 lakh from him and his acquaintances promising them the job of a head constable driver in CBI’s Lucknow zone special crime branch. A case was registered with the Manaknagar police on Monday.
The victim, Shyam Baby Trivedi said he worked for a travel agency and was sent to the house of one Rajendra Chawla and his son Anuj, both of Samar Vihar colony to ferry them to a destination in 2018.

During the trip, Anuj introduced himself as an IAS officer and his father as a senior IAS officer. The duo told Shyam Babu that they will facilitate for him a job of driver in CBI but for Rs 5 lakh as facilitation charge.
“I served them as a driver in the hope of getting a job. I drove them to the places where they met with senior officials and their vehicles fitted with blue beacons. I requested them to facilitate jobs for my acquaintances, Bachcha Babu and Mukesh, both of Unnao and arranged Rs 15 lakh for the jobs,” Shyam Babu he said. The victim said they gave Rs 7.5 lakh and were given appointment letters on September 19, 2019.
