Fake caste certificates flood UP

LUCKNOW: Menace of fake caste certificate has assumed new dimensions in Uttar Pradesh. Fake Schedule Caste certificates have been issued to a large number of people belonging to a particular caste which is not classified under the category.
"This is rampant in western UP including districts like Mathura, Agra, Etah, Ferozabad, Aligarh, Mahamayanagar, Hathras, Farrukhabad, Moradabad and also Kanpur," said a senior official.He said on the basis of these certificates, some people have even managed to allot petrol pumps in their names."
The racket came to light after a BSP leader informed the state government about this. Taking a serious note of it, chief minister Mayawati directed the officials concerned to investigate the matter.
