LUCKNOW: Chief minister Mayawati has directed all principal secretaries and secretaries to take prompt action on the letters sent by district magistrates. She issued the directive on being informed about the outcome of state-level review meeting of the top officials by cabinet secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh and chief secretary Atul Kumar Gupta.
Mayawati has directed that shortcomings and problems highlighted during her surprise inspections should be sorted out on a war-footing.
She said that to ensure that people get all facilities in government hospitals, required equipment and machines should be made available. Warning the officials that laxity in cleaning and upkeep of hospitals would not be tolerated, she said that facilities of lift and ramps should also be ensured. The chief minister has also ordered for improvement in sanitation services in nagar palikas and town areas and waste dumping grounds to be identified.
She said that the tradition of land acquisition under emergency clause should be done away with in general and the exercise should be carried out with mutual consent.
