Education department shuts down 103 illegal schools

LUCKNOW: In a major crackdown on Monday, the primary and secondary department officials forcibly shut 103

schools

in the

district

which were not registered or recognized with any of the boards.


District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) Mukesh Kumar Singh and Basic Shiksha Adhikari Amar Kant Singh visited all the identified illegal schools in eight different localities and after an investigation sealed all those not running in a legal manner. The department also pasted the notice regarding the school being not recognized by any of the board and hence the education department declared closure.

Maximum 26 schools were sealed in the Mall area of Malihabad followed by

Kakori

, Gosaiganj and Chinhat where 21, 17 and 12 schools closed down respectively. In Sarojinagar, Malihabad, BKT and Lucknow three, five, thirteen and six schools were closed.

“Students of these schools will be shifted to the nearby schools. On the direction of the DM, the education department will be first closing down 225 schools already identified to be running illegally,” said DIOS Mukesh Kumar Singh. In the next step, there would a action against 100 more schools found during our investigation, he added.
