LUCKNOW: After drawing flak over unattended garbage piles on city roads after Bada Mangal bhandaras,

LMC

's waste management partner

Eco-Green

has started sending garbage vehicles for regular lifting of waste.

However, TOI found that the vehicles were only concentrating on lifting bhandara garbage from prime roads and ignored roads and lanes of the inner parts in colonies.

While the company staff was seen working in Dalibagh, Vivekkhand, Cantonment area, Jail Road, Kapoorthala and

KGMU

crossing, the inner roads of Indiranagar,

Gomtinagar

, Chowk, Lalbagh,

Aminabad

and Nirala Nagar remained unattended and Bhandara oganisers had to dispose the waste themselves.

Though most people organising bhandaras did not take LMC permission, the ones who did too were not attended.

The organisers who had put a stall near IT Crossing had deposited fee with LMC but its garbage was not picked throughout the day. The organiser said, "Despite complaining several times, no Eco-Green worker came. Last Tuesday also we faced same situation. Eventually, we sought the help from nearby polyclinic's sanitation staff."

Vijay Gurnani

of Eldeco Green said that they hire private sweepers to clean bhandara mess every year despite registering with LMC.

Police class IV employees' association had organised a bhandara near Wireless Crossing but no garbage vehicle came to pick the waste. Even food stalls near RBI office in Gomtinagar and HAL got no Eco-Green help.

When questioned, a manager at Eco-Green said, "We sent four-five garbage vehicles to every zone for picking waste. We also sent supervisors to coordinate with organisers. The service was given to all, irrespective of whether they had registered or not."

Eco-Green staff said it picked garbage three to four times from Parivartan Crossing, Patrakarpuram, Kapoorthala, Picup Bhawan, Hazratganj, Lohia Park, VIP Guest House and Secretariat. But waste piles were seen on Station Road, KKC crossing, Latouche Road, Janeshwar Mishra Park, Polytechnic Crossing, Aravali Marg, Munshipulia, Kaiserbagh, Chowk, Nishatganj, Bhootnath and Aminabad, where organisers distributed food amid trash heaps.

The waste spilled on to streets and obstructed traffic flow.

Eco-Green claimed that it focused on limited spots only as it has limited number of garbage vehicles but assured to cover all areas next time.
