LUCKNOW: Cyclists from various parts of the state took out a cycle tiranga yatra on the eve of the 75th Independence Day, on Sunday. Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak flagged off the cycle yatra at KD Singh Babu Stadium amid the chants of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Matram’. The deputy CM greeted the members of the Pedalyatri Cycling Association and Lucknow Cycling Association on the occasion of Independence Day and urged the people to put up tricolours atop their houses. Deputy CM’s wife, Namrata Pathak, was also present on the occasion. At least 350 cyclists gathered at the stadium where they were given flags after which they started the cycle rally.

The event was chaired by Lucknow Cycle Association president Utkarsh Tripathi.

Seven sportspersons, Abu Hubaida (international para badminton), and cyclists Ansh Pandey, Santosh Singh, Anushka Sharma, Amritansh, Prabhat Ranjan, late Amrita Ranjan, were honoured with Gaurav Samman.
