Lucknow: A 22-year-old law student of Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University (DSMNRU) was found hanging in her private hostel room in Krishnagar late Saturday, police said.
The victim Komal Dwivedi hailed from Pratapgarh and was LLB (III) year student, they said.
The matter came to light when fellow hostel girls did not notice the victim for long and then knocked at her door.
“When there was no response, the girls called up Komal’s father Ram Krishna Dwivedi. The father too said she was not taking his calls. Following this Krishna Nagar police was called. The cops broke open the door only to find Komal hanging from the ventilator with a rope tied around her neck,” SHO Krishnanagar, Vikram Singh said.
She was rushed to a government hospital where doctors declared her dead.
Singh said the victim’s father told police that Komal was staying at the private hostel for the past two years.
“She was upset after she flunked in two papers,” Singh said.
