According to additional superintendent of police and commanding officer of the Meerut field unit of UP STF, Brijesh Singh, “We had got a tip-off that Dujana was present in Jani area of Meerut near Upper Ganga canal. Our unit surrounded him but he began firing at the team with the intention to escape and one was fatally wounded.”

Notably, Dujana was active in the western UP districts of Noida, Ghaziabad, Muzaffarnagar, Bulandshahr, Meerut, etc.

According to UP STF sources, before 2000, Dujana was involved in the illegal trade of iron and steel TMT bars under the tutelage of the Sundar Bhati gang with whom he shared a percentage of the profits.

Later, he fell out with Bhati and aligned himself with another Gautam Budh Nagar-based gangster Naresh Bhati.

During the several years of the gang war between Randeep Bhati gang and Sundar Bhati as well as police encounters, several top members of both gangs were killed including Naresh Bhati, which helped Dujana consolidate his position in the crime world of western UP.

Some of his daring feats include the infamous incident of 2011 where in Dujana and his associates barged into the wedding of Sundar Bhati's nephew in Ghaziabad and used an AK 47 assault rifle and other automatic weapons to eliminate Bhati.

Bhati escaped the attempt on his life but three of his members were killed in the shootout.

In fact, Naresh Bhati had entrusted the task of killing arch-rival Sundar to Dujana.

“Dujana was connected to most of the big gangsters of west UP and was also close to Mukim Kala gang of Shamli, Balram Thakur gang of Bulandshahr, and around 50 more gangsters spread out in Meerut, Etawah, Noida, Muzaffarnagar, Ghaziabad, Hathras, etc. This had provided him with a strong network of criminals throughout the west UP," added additional SP Brijesh Singh.
