Lucknow: A two-day academic programme focusing on improving treatment facilities for patients with serious illnesses concluded at the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) on Sunday.
The event was attended by 200–250 doctors and experts and was supported by the Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. The discussions focused on new treatments performed through small needle punctures and tubes for conditions such as stroke, cancer, liver-related complications, and blocked blood vessels.

Head of radiodiagnosis Prof Archana Gupta said the hospital is now offering specialised non-surgical treatments for liver cancer, tumours, knee pain due to arthritis, and blocked arteries.
SGPGI director Dr RK Dhiman said the institute is developing into a highly specialised centre providing advanced care, with a strong focus on patient treatment and research.
