LUCKNOW: The Congress party on Sunday attacked the BJP for painting the erstwhile Congress governments at Centre as corrupt and 'deshdrohi' for staying away from demonetisation. Congress asked the BJP if they believed that Atal Bihari Vajpayee was also a 'deshdrohi' because he introduced the Rs 1,000 currency notes in 1998 when he was prime minister.
"In 1998, when Vajpayee ji was PM, he introduced Rs 1,000 notes which have been banned by the present government to curb black money...does the BJP believe he was a deshdrohi too," UPCC chief Raj Babbar said.
