Dhaba owner, goons thrash group for complaining about insects in food
Lucknow: FIR was lodged in an Apr 16 case of violent clash over objection to insects found in food at a roadside dhaba in Aashiana area of Lucknow. Five youths were injured in the violence, police said on Wednesday.
Complainant Surya Mani Shukla and his friends Anurag Mani Tripathi, Surya Karan Shukla, Ankit Shukla and Manoj Joshi had gone for dinner at an eatery near Pakri Pul. The group alleged that when they complained about flies and insects in their food and demanded replacement, the dhaba owner hurled abuses at them.”The situation worsened when the group warned of filing a complaint under FSSAI norms,” said police.
The accused called in 10–12 men, who attacked the group using iron rods, pipes, knives, bricks and even cooking utensils. All five sustained serious head injuries, with heavy bleeding. Eyewitnesses alerted police, but the accused shut the dhaba and fled before police arrived. The injured were taken to Lokbandhu Hospital and later referred to SGPGI due to severity of injuries. Multiple stitches were required, particularly for head and ear wounds.
Aashiana police registered a case under multiple sections of BNS booking Pal chicken corner at Paki Pul and 10-12 unidentified persons, said SHO Chhatrapal Singh.
