DGP's wife in bungalow brawl
LUCKNOW: In a virtual police "takeover" of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) in Gonda, wife of director general of police (DGP) Yashpal Singh along with a distant relative Amar Singh, got vacated the palatial bungalow used as residence of PAC's 30th Battalion commandant to see her men in on Saturday morning.
Executed with utmost secrecy, the "coup" remained under wraps for the better part of the day.

However, in a sudden twist of events late in the evening, DIG Gonda range Shafi Rizvi himself reached the site and ordered putting a police lock on the premises after getting it vacated again.
Though DGP's wife Geeta Singh was present at the site when the "coup" took place, she blatantly denied any connection with the incident when contacted by The Times of India over telephone.
Sources claim that Amar Singh was a distant relative of Geeta Singh who in turn had developed a fancy for the palatial house when her husband Yashpal Singh was posted as Commandant 30th battalion PAC for two years during his career in UP Police. Senior PAC officers remained inaccessible at Lucknow.
Around 8 am on Saturday Geeta Singh along with a posse of men in civvies reached the palatial bungalow in Civil Lines area which had been with the PAC ever since 30th Battalion came into being in 1978-79.
The bungalow had been lying vacant since the last commandant Ashok Jain went on deputation to Kosovo about a year ago.
When 'Madam DGP' reached the site, a PAC guard comprising 20 armed personnel was present, but found itself too insignificant to question the move of Madam DGP and disappeared from the site.
The entire "takeover" remained a closely guarded secret for the better part of the day as even the PAC top brass could not dare to question 'Madam DGP' and preferred to keep away from the reporters as well.
However, in a sudden twist of events, DIG PAC DC Pandey reached Gonda from Lucknow late in the evening, apparently to take first hand stock of the situation.
