DGP: Tourism Police unit may be set up in Naimisharanya

Lucknow: DGP Rajeev Krishna visited Naimisharanya in Sitapur on Saturday and chaired a crime review meeting with local officials. DGP said like Mathura, Agra and Varanasi, a Tourism Police unit may be set up in Naimisharanya if required.He said in view of the upcoming Bihar elections strict checking is underway along the UP borders, with directions issued to seize unaccounted cash and illicit liquor. He instructed that village security committees remain active and expressed displeasure over poor cleanliness at Naimish police station during his late-night inspection. The DGP ordered SHO Pankaj Tiwari to ensure better hygiene and reviewed the Mission Shakti Centre and other sections of the station.In a subsequent review meeting with gazetted officers, DGP issued several key directives such as ensuring 100% compliance with the policy of zero tolerance against crime and criminals; training of all personnel at Mission Shakti Centres through the IGOT portal; swift action in cybercrime cases and expediting the freezing of suspicious bank accounts.
