allahabad: vedic scholar shyam j dubey ekrat denounced the idea of seperating astrology from vedas because the entire corpus of knowledge is derived from the vedas. he was speaking at the bharatiya vidya bhavan allahabad kendra under the lecture series started in honour late giridhari lalji mehta on vedic strology. dubey emphasised that all the planets and stars had originated from sun and that it was the reason why the planets revolved around the sun from right to left.
all the names of english months were borrowed from the vedas. the vedic era accepted the beginning of months from march onwards. this month was related to aries (mesha) and from that month, a 12 month cycle started thereof. dubey has a considerable experience in vedic astrology and has complied three volumes the subject. dr j n mishra prsided over the meet. course director dr rn tripathi elaborated the importance of these lectures and need of discussion on vedic astrology. other astrologers present on the occasion include pt brijendra mishra, dr girija shankar shastri, acharya triveni prasad tripathi besides senior students of the faculty of astrology. rajeev trivedi, senior student (visharad) conducted the meet while dr deepa agrawal proposed the vote of thanks.
