Deputed on poll duty, Mainpuri SDM dies of heart attack

Lucknow: An SDM posted at Mainpuri died allegedly due to a heart attack on Thursday. SDM Sadar (judicial) Virendra Kumar Mittal was on election duty and was discovered in an unconscious state by his house help in the morning.
Lalit Mohan, the help working at the SDM’s residence, told officials that when he reached the residence around 6.30-6.45 am on Thursday, he found Mittal in an unconscious state.Mohan said he immediately called the tehsildar and the two took Mittal to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Mittal, who was around 52 years, had been SDM Mainpuri since the past two and a half years. He belonged to Panipat in Haryana. The PCS Association tweeted condolences for his family.
