Deploy paramilitary forces ahead of verdict

Faizabad: Muslims in Ayodhya have asked the district administration to deploy central paramilitary forces in the areas occupied by the community ahead of the Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid verdict.

The demand was raised by the representatives of Muslim community in a meeting with Faizabad administration.

SSP Faizabad Ashish Tiwari told TOI that police have already been deployed in Muslim-dominated localities and central paramilitary forces will also be deployed soon. Civil police and some Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)personnel are also keeping vigil in Muslim-dominated localities.

“We have full faith in administration and know it will ensure peace and harmony. But the deployment of central paramilitary forces will give more assurance to the community,” general secretary of Ayodhya unit of Jamiat Ulema Hind, Hafiz Irfaan, told TOI.

“We have asked Muslims not to panic and assured them that peace will not be disrupted in Ayodhya,” said District Magistrate Faizabad Anuj Kumar Jha.
