Demand to free Shia cleric from Saudi sentence

Protesting on the streets against Saudi Arabia's death sentence to Shia cleric Ayatollah Sheikh Al-Nimr, scores of people gathered at the Maqbara Saadat Ali Khan on Wednesday and marched towards Shahnajaf Imambara. The protesters demanded Indian government's intervention to mount pressure on Saudi Arabia government for immediate release of the cleric. Raising their voice against atrocities committed on Shias around the world, protesters came down heavily on the monarchy Saudi government.

Raising their voice against atrocities committed on Shias around the world, protesters came down heavily on the monarchy Saudi government.
Protesters also condemned gun attack on a bus carrying Ismaili Shia Muslims that killed 43 and injured 13 from the community in Karachi on Wednesday. “Why are Shias being targeted everywhere in the world, be it Pakistan or Saudi Arabia,” demanded Nishat Fatima, a protester.
