DD Lucknow completes a golden era, confers award on city’s noted artists

Lucknow: Actor and dramatist Anil Rastogi was honoured with lifetime achievement award at the 50th foundation day of Doordarshan Lucknow held at Lohia Park on Sunday. The programme began with a poetic meet in which poets such as Sarvesh Asthana, Chandrashekhar Verma, Suman Diwedi, Hasan Kazmi, Azam Shakiri, Shahbaz Talib, Balram Srivastav and Budhinath Mishra presented their work.Anil Rastogi was awarded for his unwavering dedication and services in the field of theatre and stage. While, talking about his career in Bollywood, he said, "I got into Bollywood because of working for Doordarshan serials like 'Biwi Natiyon Wali', 'AB Aur Nahi' and 'Mukhda Kya Dekhe Darpan Mein'. It was because I was working in Doordarshan I got the film of Sudhir Mishra 'Ye Woh Manzil To Nahi'. I learnt how to face cameras in Doordarshan and after that film I got the very famous serial called Udaan which aired on DD-1. It helped me gain national recognition." "I have been able to reach this place in my life because my colleagues, co actors, coworkers, students, my seniors and everyone has been very supportive towards me, no matter what I received only goodness from people which kept me motivated and drove me towards success in life," he said.Along with Anil Rastogi, Prof Surya Prasad Dixit, agriculturist Vinod Singh, athlete Sudha Singh, Dr Devashish Shukla and Dr Shrikant Shukla were also honoured Chairman of Prasar Bharti Navneet Sehgal said, "Doordarshan Lucknow has highlighted various aspects of society through its broadcasts and has preserved and presented the cultural heritage of UP."Head of Programme of Doordarshan Kendra Lucknow Atma Praksh Mishra was also present on the occasion.
