Pan-India artists showcase unique artworks at 8-day sculpture camp
Lucknow: The eight-day ‘Shail Utsav' contemporary sculpture camp, organised in collaboration with the Lucknow Development Authority, concluded at Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University's Faculty of Architecture and Planning on Monday. Ten artists from different states showcased their unique artworks at the event. The sculptures and artwork made by these artisans are set to be installed at major intersections and parks, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the state capital.The artists created sculptures using various materials such as yellow and pink sandstone, black granite, and yellow marble. The artworks explored themes like circular forms, nature's elements, directionality, infinity, growth and environmental balance. LDA vice-chairperson Prathamesh Kumar announced the decision to display these sculptures in public spaces and commended the artists for their creativity. Chief guest JP Pandey, vice-chancellor of the AKTU, praised the collaborative efforts and expressed pride in the faculty of architecture for hosting the successful event. Curator Vandana Sehgal and coordinator Bhupendra Asthana highlighted the tireless work and creativity of the artists over the past 8 days.
