Days before budget, UP govt removes top finance official

LUCKNOW: Barely a fortnight before the budget session, the state government removed principal secretary ,finance, Anand Mishra, on Tuesday. While Mishra has been put on the waiting list, the state government did not post any official on the job. The state government will table the new budget in the assembly session scheduled to be convened on June 19.
At the same time, the state government posted Deepak Singhal as the new principal secretary (home), two days after A K Gupta was removed from the post.
Singhal, has been principal secretary (irrigation) ever since the Akhilesh Yadav government stormed to power in 2012. Interestingly, Singhal is said to be closely related to Gupta.
