Gandhi will have to appear before the court on March 24.

Former director of Border Road Organization, Uday Shankar Srivastava, had filed the complaint against Gandhi on the basis of which the defamation case was registered.

The comment that "Chinese soldiers are beating up Indian Army personnel in Arunachal Pradesh" - a dig at govt over Chinese action at the Line of Actual Control — drew flak from many quarters.

Many BJP leaders had called Gandhi anti-national. The petitioner said he felt hurt by Rahul Gandhi's remarks.
