LUCKNOW: A special judicial magistrate rejected the bail application of BSP MLA Jeetendra Singh 'Babloo' and vice-chairman of Ganna Kisan Sansthana Intezaar Abdi 'Bobby' here on Saturday.
Babloo and Abdi were arrested by CB-CID on Thursday night in connection with a 20-month-old case of vandalism and arson, which took place at UPCC president Rita Bahuguna Joshi's house at Mall Avenue.
A mob of about 15 persons, it may be mentioned, had vandalised and set ablaze the house of Joshi on July 15, 2009.
The incident had kicked up a political storm in the state. However, it was on Thursday that CB-CID all of a sudden arrested Babloo and Abdi from Bahukhandi Awas in Gomtinagar.
It was after this that Babloo and Abdi had moved bail application before special judicial magistrate Jeetendra Misra. The magistrate observed that since the offence was of serious nature, the bail of the two was being rejected.
