A woman was scammed out of over eighteen thousand rupees in an online fraud. The scammer posed as an employee of a company providing courier services and told the woman that she needed to pay to have her address written on a parcel. He further told her that her address was incorrect and sent her a link asking her to make the payment. When the woman made the payment, Rs 18001 and Rs 800 were debited from her bank account. The case is likely the work of a Nigerian gang.
