Health officials informed that social distancing was perhaps the only available solution to counter the coronavirus which has taken more than 10,000 lives across the country. “Efforts are being made to keep the infection under control in the state. Of the 28 patients who tested positive in the state 10 have recovered completely. However, they have been asked to stay home quarantined for another two weeks to avoid chances for relapse,” explained Dr Agarwal.

Suspected cases continued to surface in different parts of the state. In Lucknow, 29 such patients were checked and put in isolation wards including 4 at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences. At the state level, the number of suspected cases isolated at hospitals crossed 50 mark.

Health officials also emphasized on the importance of the janata curfew imposed by the state across 15 cities. “It is very important for people to strictly follow the curb imposed in the interest of their family members and also for the well being of society at large. The extreme step has been taken to break the chain of the virus movement so that a fate like Italy or China may be avoided,” said CMO Lucknow
