LUCKNOW: The police have zeroed in on three disputes in connection with the sensational murder of a property dealer in Gomtinagar on Monday night. One of these disputes probably led to the murder, police said on Tuesday.
Two unidentified men shot dead Shariful Hasan at his Ujariaon residence in Gomtinagar at around 8pm on Monday.
Hasan was locked in at least two property disputes with his relatives.
The first dispute was between Hasan and in-laws of his daughter, police sources said. The in-laws reside in Madion. Hasan had another property dispute with his relatives staying in Rajajipuram.
There were two killers, police quoting eyewitnesses said. While one of them had his face covered, another wore a helmet. They fled on a motorcycle from the narrow lanes of Ujariaon.
The postmortem report has revealed that miscreants shot two bullets at Hasan.One bullet pierced through Hasan's right temple while the other hit the back of his head.
On Monday, the police had said that only one bullet killed Hasan. Police sources said since second bullet mark was covered with hair, it could not be spotted.
About the third dispute, police sources said, Hasan had picked up a fight a with some youths of Chamrahi village near Mithaiwala Crossing six months back. Once beaten by these youths, Hasan had threatened them with a weapon. But the matter was resolved following the intervention of locals.
Sources said the police will crack the case soon.
When contacted, SP trans-Gomti Nitin Tiwari, confirmed that property disputes were being looked into. Besides, the role of an insider in the murder was also being probed, he added.
