Lucknow: The Ghazipur police arrested a man accused of holding a property broker hostage for six hours at a house in sector 16 of Indiranagar and freeing him only after he coughed up Rs 1.15 lakh on Tuesday. The accused was identified as
Rajesh Yadav alias
Raju Yadav of Gudamba. Ghazipur police inspector Nagendra Chaube said Yadav called Ankit Soni of Pragati Vihar to show him a house on Tuesday night.
Yadav and his aide held Soni to ransom. They even snatched Rs 19,000 and an
iPhone from Soni and forced him to ask his family/ acquaintances to deliver the ransom money to his henchmen and released him after the cash was delivered around 11pm.
Police said Yadav had been harassing Soni and often used to extort from him. After this incident, Soni complained to the police and Yadav was arrested.
