PILIBHIT: A constable of dial 112 police service, identified as Rashid (who goes by his first name), was stabbed with a knife by a man at Naokurh village under Pilibhit Kotwali limits around 10.30pm on Monday. Rashid along with a police response vehicle (PRV) team reached the village following a call by one Sher Singh seeking “police protection” from his younger brother, Aman Singh, after a scuffle between the two brothers.
As the PRV cops attempted to pacify the two men, Aman suddenly assaulted Rashid with a knife. The injured cop was shifted to district hospital by the same PRV but in view of his critical condition, he was referred to another medical facility in Bareilly.
Senior police officers including SP Avinash Pandey, ASP Vikram Dahiya and CO of Pilibhit sadar Deepak Chaturvedi visited the hospital to see the injured cop.
SHO Naresh Kumar Tyagi, said, “A case was registered against the two brothers under BNS section 109 (attempt to murder) and they were taken into custody.”
CO Chaturvedi added, “Condition of the injured is currently stable.”
