Committed to ensuring quality healthcare in remote UP areas: Pathak
Lucknow: Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak on Thursday said the Uttar Pradesh govt is committed to ensuring that quality healthcare reaches the last person in society, particularly those living in remote and border areas. He spoke at the inauguration of Guru Gorakhnath Swasthya Seva Yatra 6.0 at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS).
Calling the initiative a strong medium of public service, Pathak said the health service campaign is playing a crucial role in providing medical care to Tharu-dominated regions along the India–Nepal border. Under the programme, free medical camps will be organised between Feb 6 and 8 in Maharajganj, Balrampur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Siddharthnagar, Pilibhit, Shravasti and Bahraich districts. The Deputy CM flagged off buses carrying teams of doctors to these districts and also distributed "Spandan ECG machines" to medical professionals. He said the compact ECG device, claimed to be the world's smallest, can function without a battery or internet connection, making it especially useful in remote and underserved areas. "Such technological innovations will help ensure quick and accurate diagnosis and strengthen healthcare delivery in difficult terrain," he said.Pathak added that the campaign reflects the spirit of service, dedication and human welfare, reinforcing the govt's resolve of ‘Sabka Swasthya, Sabka Samman'. He congratulated doctors, organisers and volunteers associated with the initiative for their contribution to public health. The programme is organised by the National Medicos Organisation (NMO) Awadh and Gorakh Prant, in association with Shri Guru Gorakhnath Seva Nyas.Several senior RSS functionaries, ministers, legislators and heads of major medical institutions were present at the event, including ministers Dayashankar Singh and Asim Arun, MLC Pawan Singh Chauhan, and directors of Kalyan Singh Super Specialty Cancer Institute and RML Institute.
