CM Yogi turns despair into hope for mothers

Lucknow: For many women across UP, Mother’s Day has come to symbolise relief, recovery and renewed hope as their appeals to chief minister Yogi Adityanath have turned their lives from despair to hope.
Citing several such cases, an official spokesperson said these stories reflected the CM’s commitment to going the extra mile to support mothers and their families.
“The list includes the story of a hearing-impaired child who can now hear her mother’s voice, as well as young girls who secured school admissions after administrative intervention,” the spokesperson said.
One such case is that of Khushi Gupta from Kanpur, a hearing- and speech-impaired girl who wandered nearly 90km from her home to Lucknow last year before meeting the CM during a public interaction programme.
Following the meeting, the govt facilitated her cochlear implant surgery with support from the social welfare and disability empowerment departments and a foundation. Khushi can now hear and speak. Officials said her first words after the surgery were, “Thank you, Yogi ji,” leaving her mother, Geeta Gupta, emotional.
The spokesperson also highlighted the case of Myra from Kanpur, whose school admission was arranged within hours after she met the CM during a Janata Darshan. Similar assistance was extended to girls including Anabi Ali from Lucknow, Vachi from Moradabad and Pankhudi Tripathi from Gorakhpur through admissions and fee waivers.
In another instance, an elderly woman from Kanpur sought help for her son, who was suffering from cancer. He was subsequently shifted to Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute for treatment.
