LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving appointment letters to 71,000 people recruited across the country through 41 employment fairs.

The letters were issued by the PM virtually on Tuesday and it included many youths from UP.

Thanking the PM on Twitter, the CM said: “Under the guidance of respected PM Modi ji, new opportunities are being created continuously to connect the youth with the development journey of the nation. Many congratulations to more than 71,000 newly selected youths on receiving appointment letters through the PM Rozgar Mela! Thank you, Prime Minister!”

The fairs were held at 41 locations across the country, including Lucknow, Varanasi, Agra, Moradabad and Gorakhpur in UP.

In Lucknow, Union minister for women and child development Smriti Irani was present for the event while Union minister for heavy industries Mahendra Nath Pandey was in Varanasi.

Similarly, Union MSME minister Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma was in Moradabad, Union minister for fisheries and animal husbandry Sanjeev Balyan in Agra and Union minister of state for home affairs Ajay Kumar in Gorakhpur. During the event in Lucknow, Irani said those getting jobs should ensure that benefit of all schemes reach the common man.

“Employees and officers would encounter several people with new aspirations and new thinking during their work and it is their responsibility to ensure that public got the benefits of various government schemes,” Irani said adding that “You can work to protect the country while working in any government department.”

She praised the work of the postal department and said: “Those employed here should work to empower women through various savings schemes. The newly appointed persons should work with dedication and serve the people.”
