Yogi Adityanath on Monday visited the residence of senior police officer Amitabh Yash to pay last respects to his father, Ram Yash Singh, who died earlier in the day at the age of 83.
The CM offered floral tribute to the departed soul and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family. He spent time with family members, sharing their grief and recalling the late officer’s distinguished career in public service.
A former IPS officer of Bihar cadre, Ram Yash Singh was known for his discipline, integrity and commitment to duty. During his tenure, he served in East Champaran, West Champaran, Jehanabad and Godda (now in Jharkhand), making significant contributions to maintaining law and order. He was awarded the President’s Police Medal for Gallantry for exemplary courage.
He retired as DIG (Intelligence) in Bihar Police and later continued serving society as an advocate at the Patna High Court. On Monday, he suffered a cardiac arrest.
He is survived by his wife, Geeta Singh, and son Amitabh Yash.
