CM orders arrest of SP youth leader

Lucknow: A Samajwadi Party youth leader was arrested by Mahanagar police on Friday on charges of domestic violence and torturing his wife. The accused, Rahul Singh, is state vice-president of Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha and was arrested on chief minister Akhilesh Yadav's directive. Rahul's wife Priyanka Kalra approached police with a complaint that he had married another woman on July 11.When her complaint was not lodged, she met the chief minister.
Mahanagar inspector PK Ojha said Priyanka stated that Rahul tortured her and threatened to murder her. Rahul and Priyanka got married in 2009 and have a 5-year-old son.
