LUCKNOW: Chief minister Aditya Nath Yogi on Sunday released the
Bhartiya Janata Party's `sankalp-patra' for local body poll. It's the first time that BJP has released a vision document for local body elections anywhere in the country.
The 27-point sankal-patra promises special importance to cleanliness in urban areas besides massive plantation; better drinking water facility; better roads and street lighting.
With special focus on making the cities and towns Open Defecation Free (ODF), sankalp-patra promises free community toilets; pink toilets for women and Rs 20,000 grant for private toilets.
Creating an Adarsh nagar panchayat system and implementing e-tendering are other promises.
Stray animals are a major trouble on city roads. BJP would provide Kanji house for stray animals in cities. The party also promises effective protection to vendors.
The sankalp-patra also contains promises on free water connection to every house; transparent and responsible administration; time-bound disposal of public grievances; improved city bus service; free wi-fi at main public places and online payment facility for all taxes and liabilities.
Providing better parking facility would also get the party's focus.
On the occasion, state BJP president
Mahendra Nath Pandey and deputy chief ministers
Keshav Prasad Maurya and
Dinesh Sharma were also present.
