LUCKNOW: Three city girls — Namita Shukla, Jyoti Singh and Kusum Yadav — created history on Thursday by acquiring the top three spots in the UP Board Intermediate Examinations 2007 merit list. Students of Rajat Bal Vidya Mandir Girls' Inter College, they secured 93.40, 92.80 and 92.40 per cent marks respectively. Saurabh Katiyar of Lucknow Public Inter College, Jail Road branch, shared the third spot with Kusum.
In all, 78 students made it to the top 21 positions declared by the board at a press conference in Allahabad. Fifty-seven students of Kanpur and 15 of Lucknow were in the merit-list. Students from Aurraiya, Maharajganj, Bara Banki, Etawah and Jahanabad Fatehpur too were in the list. The fourth position was shared by Devansh Gupta and Pranav Shukla of BSND Shiksha Niketan Inter College, Kanpur. They secured 91.60 per cent marks. Anuraag Singh of Lucknow Public School (LPS), Jail Road branch, kept the fifth position with Lucknow with 91.40 per cent marks. Shweta Saxena of DS Shiksha Niketan Inter College, Aurraiya secured 91 % marks and took sixth position, and seventh position was shared by Shubhra Mishra of LPS, Jail Road, and Abhishek Shukla of SKD Academy Rajajipuram, Lucknow, with 90.80 per cent marks. Securing 90.6% marks, Aakash Johari of JNSVM Inter College, Bareilly and Saurabh Srivastava of SVN Inter College, Kanpur, secured eighth position. The ninth position went to Pranjul Mishra of BSND Shiksha Niketan Inter College Kanpur and Shubhangini of AMSCM Inter College Etawah. They got 90.40% marks. The tenth position was shared by three students from different schools of Aurraiya. The names include Akanksha Mishra of Vaidik Technical Inter College, Ajeet Pratap Singh of SGS Inter College and Saransh Ratna Yadav of DS Shiksha Niketan Inter College. They received 90.20 per cent marks.
