LUCKNOW: The claims of the state government to conduct cheating-free UP Board exams are falling flat.

In Barabanki, two superintendents were removed on Thursday for negligence. At Jagriti Inter College, Suratganj, centre superintendent Ramesh Chandra Ojha and external superintendent Sarita Bharti were relieved of their duties after examinees were seen seated in two rooms that neither had a camera nor a router.

“Despite strict instructions to conduct exams under CCTV vigil, students at this centre took the paper without camera surveillance. A report has been sought,” said Rajesh Kumar Verma, district inspector of schools, Barabanki. Notices have been issued to 13 more colleges for undermining the sanctity of board exams. At Sundar Lal Inter College in Safdarganj, Barabanki, an official on surprise inspection found girls taking exams in rooms where DVRs were disconnected.
