Lucknow: Lucknow police on Saturday arrested a former journalist in connection with a case against the Samajwadi Party media cell Twitter account for allegedly spreading communal hatred.
Anil Yadav was arrested by Hazratganj police in connection with a case lodged by journalist Manish Pandey against the SP media cell Twitter account. Yadav has been sent to judicial custody. The case was lodged on November 23.
ACP, Hazratganj, Arvind Kumar Verma said that during the probe, it surfaced that Yadav was using the Twitter account known by the name of SP media cell while an investigation was still being conducted.
From the same handle, it was later tweeted that Anil Yadav should be released immediately and should be sent home with respect.
