Cafe run by special kids opens in Lucknow
LUCKNOW: In a unique initiative, a cafe run by multiply challenged children was inaugurated in the city on Saturday.

“It will be a good opportunity for them to learn business techniques after they have already excelled in shooting, sports and handicraft making,” she added A team of 12 multiple challenged children is being trained in the first phase, followed by many more later.

Joshi inaugurated the cafe, which is a no-profit venture, in Jankipuram extension. Created by Drishti Samajik Sansthan, it will be a training opportunity for 220 orphan children who will learn business skills and become self-reliant. Institute director Atharva Bahadur said the initiative was a dream of his mother Neeta Bahadur, who founded Drishti about 30 years ago. “It is a charitable venture of Drishti. All proceeds will go to the welfare of the multiple challenged children who live here,” he added. Shalu Singh, the joint director, said customers will be served various snacks, beverages and ice creams by the multiply challenged children.Read this story in Bengali
